Serosep are delighted to welcome Nana Kwame Osafo into the role of Field Application Specialist for the UK market.
Nana has an impressive background in biomedical science, having completed a bachelor’s in Biomedical Science at Coventry University. Nana completed his placement year at UKHSA Colindale within the Enteric Viruses Division, where he obtained HCPC registration in Biomedical Science. After graduating, Nana loved working at UKHSA so much that he went back and worked there for an additional three years where he enhanced and expanded his knowledge of Molecular Biology including Sanger and NGS sequencing.
Once COVID hit Nana became heavily involved in the testing, development and validation of assays and automation of equipment that was fundamental to scaling up testing. Nana quickly realised how much he loved viruses and decided to complete his Masters in Molecular Biology and Pathology of Viruses at the Imperial College of London during COVID! It was throughout this time, working alongside other Application Scientists, that Nana knew this was the job he wanted to explore further….. he wanted to be able to assist and implement new ideas/lean management and workflows for other labs, to be involved in training, and have the chance to develop and learn more in a dynamic environment. Nana felt he could achieve all his goals here at Serosep and we are delighted to have him on board as part of the Serosep Family. Nana will help provide applications training and support for Serosep’s invitro diagnostic solutions to our vast clinical laboratory customer network.
In his spare time, Nana loves to hit the gym or do a bit of baking for his friends and family….. building new memories is what he loves to do best and we hope he will have many new and memorable moments to share with us here in Serosep going forward!
